My client an american powerhouse within the securities business are looking for a very senior project manager with securities experienece to spearhead a regional programme they are just about to embark upon.
My client is looking fir a senior project manager to drive a new project aimed at changing the way they settle securities trades and services assets. The programme is structured around four major work streams and is centred in key operation centres that include Hong Kong and London. As such they are looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Project Manager to join our team in Hong Kong.
As a Senior Project Manager in Hong Kong, you will have overall responsibility for the successful implementation of specific work streams targeted principally at the rationalisation of Global Custody assets and related cash processing onto the Group’s strategic platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with business management to define and implement detailed operating models for specific business functions • Collaborate with IT teams to define and specify systems development work • Agree project objectives with the overall manager of the Custody programme to design an appropriate project structure for efficient delivery • Create and manage the project plan. • Monitor key project milestones, • Manage project activities from feasibility study to implementation applying appropriate project management methodologies, • Deploy effective control and management mechanisms to achieve optimum performance of project and business resources • Employ active issue resolution and risk mitigation methods to aid delivery • Oversee approved budgets within IT and the business and identify as well as resolve dependencies on other work streams • Manage resources assigned to the project, ensuring that the project objectives are achieved. • Drive change within affected parts of the business, work closely with and gain the sponsorship from product owners, business owners, IT and other programme work streams • Communicate to all stakeholders and team members through an appropriate governance process, and maintain regular and verbal reporting formally and informally • Represent the work stream on programme steering and other committees, chair project working groups, ensure accurate minutes kept and action taken where necessary • Comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements and maintain, with strict accordance, Group Standard Manual and all relevant Functional Instruction Manuals and Business Instruction Manual to minimise operational, reputational and financial risks
Requirements
• A university graduate with degree in IT, business administration or related discipline • At least 10 years’ working experience of which a minimum of seven years in project management in banking/financial sector • Previous successful track record in project delivery, preferably within a securities environment • Sound knowledge of the securities industry and market infrastructure • Strong project management techniques with a structured and disciplined approach • Excellent team player and people motivator with demonstrable qualities of stability and leadership • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and spoken English • Good stakeholder management skills • Able to work in a high pressure environment and manage priorities effectively • Willing to travel and work flexible hours to function in a global team
